Dr. Javed Mahmud has newly joined the Department of Business Administration (DBA) at Prime University as an Assistant Professor. He completed his S.S.C. from Saint Joseph High School, Dhaka and H.S.C. from Notre Dame College, Dhaka in 1977 and 1979 respectively. Later on, he completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Department of Applied Physics & Electronics at the University of Dhaka. Dr. Mahmud obtained his first MBA degree from the prestigious Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka in 1993 followed by his second MBA degree from Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia in 2005. He was awarded his Doctorate of Business Administration degree at the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka, in 2019.

Dr. Mahmud has more than 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur. He has served as Director, Partner and Managing Director at various organizations including Electronics Corporation (Pvt.) Ltd., Exchange International Ltd., Anamika Enterprise Ltd. and S&M Associates.

Dr. Mahmud has over 18 years of experience in teaching. In his academic career, he has served as an adjunct faculty at Victoria University’s (Australia) offshore campus at Dhaka. He also has experience as a faculty at the University of Development Alternative (UODA) and University of Asia Pacific (UAP). Till 2022 he was the Head, Department of Business Administration, at Northern University Bangladesh

Dr. Javed Mahmud has published 5 journal publications in the field of consumer behaviour, supply chain management, inclusive business modelling, etc. Besides his publications, he has also attended a few renowned workshops and seminars around the world.

Alongside his professional career, Mr. Mahmud has affiliations with various academic and social associations. He is serving as the President of the DBA Forum of Bangladesh and the treasurer at the Alumni Association of the Department of EEE, Dhaka University. He holds membership and life membership positions at Administrative Staff College of India Association, IBA Alumni Association and Bangladesh MBA Association. He has also served as an election observer at the 8th National Assembly Election of Bangladesh in 2001 under Bangladesh Election Commission. He is an avid traveller and loves reading and sports.
