“Transforming Electrical and Electronic Engineering through Outcome-Based
Education”
The Department of
Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) of Prime University organized a
seminar on “Transforming Electrical and Electronic Engineering through
Outcome-Based Education (OBE)”. Professor Dr. Engr. Md. Rashidul Hasan, Dean,
Faculty of Engineering at Prime University, served as Chief Guest, highlighting
the growing importance of OBE in preparing industry-ready graduates. Dr. Palash
Chandra Karmaker, Associate Professor and Head, Department of EEE, chaired the
session.
The seminar began with
a welcome speech delivered by Md. Mostak Ahmed, Associate Professor, Department
of EEE. The notable invitees of the seminar were two Additional Director of IQAC
Md. Jahidul Azad, Assistant Professor, and Md. Nazrul Islam, Assistant
Professor, both of whom contributed to the discussions on the importance of
academic quality and curriculum development.
The keynote speaker,
H.M. Maruf Rahman Shuvo, Lecturer, Department of EEE, provided an in-depth
explanation of the principles and benefits of OBE. He emphasized how OBE aligns
education with industry needs and fosters practical skills essential for
engineering students. His presentation highlighted the role of OBE in enhancing
learning outcomes and better preparing students for real-world challenges.
The session concluded with a closing speech of the session chair Dr. Palash Chandra Karmaker, he emphasized the necessity of Outcome-Based Education to enhance the quality of education in engineering sector. He reiterated the departments’ commitment to make the student familiar with this new Outcome-Based Education and announced that more seminars on this topic would be organized in the future, to ensure continuous improvement and engagement with this transformative educational approach.
